Artistic Anatomy - 1 day crash course

  • Atwood Atelier 931 East Main Street Madison, WI, 53703 United States (map)

Instructor: Katie Hogan

Saturday, Oct 26th

9:30 - 4:30 (lunch 12:30 - 1:30)

This one-day workshop is designed for people who want to learn about the basics of artistic anatomy. Artistic anatomy is the study of anatomy crucial to the artist when depicting the human form, developing an understanding of underlying musculature and bone structures that inform the outward appearance of the figure.

Some familiarity with drawing the human form is helpful, but not required. Instruction will include a combination of lectures and working from a live model. We will cover the fundamentals of artistic anatomy, giving each student a solid introduction to the structural anatomy and proportion needed to draw the human form. Demonstrations and individualized feedback guide students through the workshop.
