This 6 week course will give students a foundation in oil painting through a series of exercises which introduce and reinforce the fundamentals of the craft. Classes are open to all experience levels, but is beginner friendly, and instruction is tailored to each student's individual needs. Students will learn several different approaches to oil painting, including grisaille, alla prima, and more. Students will also tackle the mysteries of the medium, brushes, palettes, and cover how to safely use the material. This course will give anyone with a sincere interest and honest effort the opportunity to form a solid foundation in oils, and provide the confidence and curiosity to explore further! The last session of the class will be painting a portrait from a live model, model fees are included in the course cost.
