Plein air painting, the art of painting outdoors on location, merges our love of our natural world (including cities), and creating art. In this one day workshop, students will learn from demos in both oil paints and pastels and paint on site with feedback and guidance throughout. Students are invited to work in oils, acrylics, or pastels - whichever you prefer!

John Mix has been painting this way since the early 2000s in oil and pastel.  This workshop requires some basic equipment, an easel and panel holder, and the desire to learn! Experience with color mixing is helpful. Open to other media. 

Class will meet at the UW-Arboretum Visitor Center @9:00 am -- dress for the weather!
